Sneak Preview! One Stop Holiday Shop...

Nov 21, 2014 by

As you are aware if you follow us on Facebook, we have been ultra-busy crafting in preparation for our final craft fair of the 2014 season; the 2nd Annual One Stop Holiday Shop in Saratoga Springs, NY. Last year we had only just broken into eggshell items, this year we’ve gone above and beyond that as we’ve gotten into beaded jewelry and hand-dyed silks! Since we’re so excited to share, here’s a sneak preview of what’s to come! 😉 Of course, you can see more on the Facebook page, so if you’re curious definitely go take a peak. Crystal Cluster Earrings are something we’ve always admired for their shiny beauty, and are now capable of crafting. These earrings are created using Czech glass crystals clustered together on a few links of chain to create...

2nd Annual One Stop Holiday Shop Coming Up!...

Nov 13, 2014 by

You may remember last year that we did one final craft fair at the end of the year in Saratoga Springs, NY. Well, we’re happy to say we’re going back and expecting it to be bigger and better than ever! So much has changed for us since we did the last One Stop Holiday Shop craft and vendor fair! It’s actually a little overwhelming to think about. When we did the event last year, we were just introducing eggshell jewelry and magnets. We were still mainly kanzashi flowers and a lot of hopes and dreams. This year, we will have the same beautiful kanzashi flowers you know us for, plus we have more eggshell items, but the big thing is that we now have so much jewelry and hand-dyed silk scarves! We’ve been hard...

Summer Wrap-Up: Craft Fairs

Oct 10, 2014 by

So uh… where did summer go? >_>; For us, it went flying by (on a broomstick, that crafty witch…) and we hardly seemed to see any of it. We were kept very busy with three craft fairs that occurred very close together, Gwen’s wedding, and my photography workshop. Which also happened in about the same time frame. To summarize, our summer looked roughly like so: August 2nd – Front Street Art Fest in Ballston Spa August 23rd – Mabee Farms Craft Fair in Rotterdam Junction September 13th – Charlton Presbyterian Church Craft Fair in Charlton September 17th – I gave a photography workshop in Albany October 4th – Gwen got married (and it was lovely) That’s a lot of stuff in about oh… two months. And for most of the summer we were preparing...

2nd Annual Front Street Art Fest...

Jul 29, 2014 by

This coming Saturday is the 2nd annual Front Street Art Fest in historic Ballston Spa, NY! From Bath Street to Low Street will be closed off, and crafters will line either side of the road with their wares displayed and ready to be purchased into a new forever home. We will, once again, be among those crafters; so if you’re able to stop by that’d be fantastic! We love meeting our customers face-to-face, and it allows you a chance to see our beautiful pieces up close and personal before you (somehow) decide what to get (we understand that you love everything 😉 ) The beautiful thing about this particular show though, is that it is 100% handmade. Shopping at this event means you know you’re purchasing from a local artisan or small business, and...

Front Street Art Festival

Aug 4, 2013 by

So yesterday was the first annual Front Street Art Festival in downtown Ballston Spa. Originally, myself and Gwen had opted not to attend, as we were unsure about the whole thing (there were a lot of questions). However, when friend and fellow dancer L came forward, asking if we wanted to join her since she had gotten space, that changed things. Gwen already had a trip planned for the weekend at this point, but I was free. So, after some discussion I decided I would go and be booth buddies with L, and Gwen helped me prep for it. After all, I wasn’t about to ask her to cancel her trip since originally we hadn’t planned on doing this particular craft fair. The fair itself was interesting, to say the least. Due to the...

Spring Boutique on the Lake

Apr 21, 2013 by

So the time came to do another craft show! Same place as the holiday one, but with twice as many vendors! We learned a lot from the first craft show, like not wanting to be up until 1am the night before crafting the last of your flowers. Yeah, that was definitely out. Instead, this time we were up until 1am finishing up other things. Gwen had things to finish pricing and tagging, while I was working on our displays. That was the other thing we learned, displays are a good thing. But they can be so expensive if you buy them from a store. So, with a little creative engineering, help from my dad (he worked the saw for me), craft foam, velour, self-adhesive felt, dowels, and dangly doo-dads; I made a set of...

Craft Show: Holiday Boutique on the Lake...

Nov 27, 2012 by

Well, it didn’t take very long before we found our very first craft show to attend! When it comes to keeping busy, Gwen and I seem to be the ultimate champions at it. After all the work we put into getting the Etsy Shop up and running, we had originally expected to take a small breather. Yeah, we should have known better. No sooner do we have the shop up, we make our first sale! Definitely extremely exciting, because being the realist I am sometimes, I had not expected a sale on the first day. I figured it would take some serious marketing to get to that point. Gwen on the other hand not only expected it, but has a dream that we will sell out of flowers before the holidays. Now, I’m inclined...
